How it works
Three steps. That is the whole thing.
No account to create. No tutorial to sit through. A four-year-old can do step one
alone, and steps two and three take about ten seconds together.

Colour it
Pencils, felt tips, paint, glued-on cotton wool: whatever is
in the box. There is no wrong colour here, and no wrong material either.

Scan it
Open Animatta, hold the phone over the page. Four little
corner marks tell it what it is looking at. That is the entire setup.

It's alive!
The story plays as a four-minute cartoon, narrated out loud,
with their colours on every single character. Then they will ask to watch it again.

Why we made it
The part we did not see coming
We thought the magic was in the colouring. It isn't. And we thought it was in
the cartoon. It isn't that either.
It is the ten minutes afterwards, when the whole family crowds around one small
screen to watch it. And then watches it again.
A child who has coloured something has made a thing. A child who watches that thing
move, in front of their grandmother, has made a thing that matters.
That is the whole product, and it is the reason we keep the film short and the
colouring long.

Questions
Things parents ask us first
Do I have to install an app?
No. Animatta runs in the browser on any phone
or tablet: you just open a link. If you want it on the home screen with an icon,
you can add it in one tap, and it will then work with no internet at all.
What if my child colours outside the lines?
Good. That is rather the point. Animatta reads
the page as a whole and paints each character with what it finds there, smudges,
overlaps and all. A four-year-old's page looks like a four-year-old's film,
which is exactly what you want.
Is my child's photograph sent anywhere?
No. The page is processed on your own device
and stays there. We do not upload the photo, we do not need an account, and there
is no way for us to see your child's drawing.
Does it need internet?
Only the first time, to load the story. After
that everything runs on the device: trains, planes and holiday cottages included.
Can two children colour the same book?
Each printed book is one set of pages, so it is
one film at a time: a new scan simply replaces the previous colours. Most families
with two children buy two books, which is also how siblings stay friends.
Where do you ship, and how fast?
Across the European Union and the United Kingdom,
usually in three to five working days. Books are printed in the EU.
